All female Malaysian national service training camps

girls
Pic thanks to British Council

I got this from The Malay Mail

It is a good idea.Girls are best left with the girls.NS camp is terrifying and challenging enough. We don’t want to worry about guys around. It will be safer for the girls and more comfortable. The girls can be themselves and concentrate on the tasks at hand. The boys will be a distraction.

What are the pros for having guys around?
1.self appointed heroes?
2.protection?
3.social experience?
4.show the way in difficult taxing physical tasks?

We can do without the guys.In doing physical exercises, sometimes we get wet and expose ourselves in unflattering circumstances.Guys have different abilities.Having girls around will make the situation calmer in NS camps. The guys will be more gentle. The girls will not get any benefits.

I do not mind if they are segregated during activities. They can come together during the weekends to do community work.I do not mind a little socializing being allowed for e.g campfires, bbq’s with proper supervision.

For the parents,I think they will prefer segregation. My mum is already worried about my younger sister.I think the admin should concentrate on proper vetting for the staff at NS camps.Being away from home is unsettling for the girls.Over-riding factor to consider for the girls is safety and comfort. And medical resources ready when the need arises.

HAHA… I’ve never buy into the NS training as mentioned many in my post, fundamentally the concept is flawed, lousy intention and flawed, and to have the genders split… Hmmm, isn’t that part of the whole “national unity” hoo ha ?

Suzie, don’t deprive gals knowing guys there la.. many in there just wanna make “friends”..
