A six-year-old boy told his father he wanted to marry the little girl across the street. The father, being modern and well-schooled in handling children, hid his smile behind his hand.

‘That’s a serious step,’ he said. ‘Have you thought it out completely?’

‘Yes,’ his young son answered. ‘We can spend one week in my room and the next in hers. It’s right across the street, so I can run home if I get scared of the dark.’

‘How about transportation?’ the father asked.

‘I have my wagon, and we both have our tricycles,’ the little boy answered.

The boy had an answer to every question the father raised.

Finally, in exasperation, his dad asked, ‘What about babies? When you’re married, you’re liable to have babies, you know.’

‘We’ve thought about that, too,’ the little boy replied. ‘We’re not going to have babies. Every time she lays an egg, I’m going to step on it!’

When I read that DAP had picked Teresa Kok as S’gor deputy MB, I felt so proud. I felt for once women are being appreciated and not being down-trodden as in the past where BN party members routinely make snide remarks that belittle women.

Since the 12th general election on march 8th, I feel a renewed joy in being a Malaysian. No longer this overwhelming air of despair and total helplessness. It is a new dawn indeed of hope for all Malaysians.

There can only be one way for the country in the future that is up, up and up.

It was reported that the party’s organising secretary Tan Kok Wai said that the party’s central committee agreed with Kok’s candidacy at a meeting held in Penang . She was favored over DAP Selangor chief Ean Yong Hian Wah and three-term state assemblyperson Teng Chang Khim for the post. The party’s decision making body agreed that Kok, who is also the Seputeh member of Parliament, would be the most appropriate candidate for the post.

Tan said that the party agreed on Kok’s candidacy to promote women’s participation in politics.

Tan said that there were many women DAP candidates who won in the recent general election and Kok’s appointment as the deputy Selangor menteri besar would encourage even more women to be involved. Kok had just made her debut into Selangor this time by winning the Kinrara state seat.

I have stopped blogging for a while. However while surfing, I came across this this post: Can an Employee Refuse a Meeting with the Boss? This simple illustration speaks lots of our political system. It is rotting deep inside through decades of dominance over the political scene.

The ‘democratic’ system is so deeply entrenched that the rakyat no longer has a say in matters. To quote Shakespeare , The world is but a stage and we are all but actors in it The voters have been taken for granted and act like bit actors. The voters have been tuned, cowed and frightened to vote the same way for half a century. The opposition tries against all odds to make a difference but it is an uphill battle. The opposition of course exclaim and lament their vision of perceived electoral abuses, the institutional disadvantages, and almost total media blackout by the government.

Let us not kid ourselves. Everybody knows the above. Even the leaders in BN know it. After all they are the ones who created the scenario in the first place. What is more important is will this spur the rakyat to make a stand.

There is a ray of hope though. Citizens have through education have learned to surf the net and find information otherwise inaccessible to them. They are more vocal in their blogs and comment as they see it. However many still write in a climate of fear. Personally I self-censor myself after every post.

Now my message for every voter is : vote according to your conscience. Treat what is in the official media with a healthy dose of suspicion. One has to respect their stance considering they have their owners who pay their pay cheques and we know they need to keep their jobs with the rising costs of living.

It will be an interesting election. It might also the first time we see the impact of the internet on electoral polls.Every vote makes a difference. Go home to vote if necessary. Make travel plans today. It is your right as a citizen. And an obligation to make known your political stance.

It contains a lot of interesting articles about online gambling. I love gambling as it is exciting and to me this site is very relevant to me.

For example I found out the importance of Online Casino Payout Rates. In fact the Payout Rate is the Most Important Thing at Online Casino. I also found an article Casino Baccarat for Beginners. This is a very informative article. I would recommend it to any one who is interested in Casino Baccarat.

It surprised me to read that Israel is set to legalize betting at the Races. It was a shocker to me that Israel is to develop betting business. These articles and many more can be found on this blog.

But the most important thing to me was it has links to many online casinos. Through the links I could pick and choose casinos which interest me. I visited rushmorecasino.com, Millionaire online casino, Platinum Online Play casino, and goldencasino.com.

I favorited this site and visit it now and then to read and dig out the latest developments in online casinos and gambling.

I came across these tortoises as I was passing an area near a ditch. The ditch was flooded so I presumed they came out because of it. These are incredible creatures. The minute they sensed they moved into their shell. I waited a long time for them to come out but they didn’t except for the baby turtle. After a while, it came out, inquisitive and perhaps playful.

I was afraid they might be found by others nearby and perhaps killed or kept as pets. I removed them and put them in a place away from human eyes. Even so, it took them a long time to waddle their way to safety. Their movements are so slow. They were found eventually by a security guard who put them in a pail and he told me he wanted them as pets.

That made me sad but I didn’t say anything. Perhaps it is best. At least as pets they would survive.

Tortoises or land turtles are land-dwelling reptiles of the family of Testudinidae, order Testudines. Like their marine cousins, the sea turtles, tortoises are shielded from predators by a shell. The top part of the shell is the carapace, the underside is the plastron, and the two are connected by the bridge. The tortoise has both an endoskeleton and an exoskeleton. Tortoises can vary in size from a few centimetres to two meters. Tortoises tend to be diurnal animals with tendencies to be crepuscular depending on the ambient temperatures. They are generally reclusive animals.

Many tortoises have specific temperature, roaming space, light, air moisture, and diet requirements. They are difficult to captive breed, so many are wild caught. Tortoises need outdoor space to roam. It is not possible to house-train a tortoise.

Most land based tortoises are herbivores, feeding on grazing grasses, weeds, leafy greens, flowers, and certain fruits. Their main diet consists of alfalfa, clover, dandelions, and leafy weeds, although they will also eat various insects.

Um, you should read up on how he was still eliminated unfairly in the end. And the Internet boards are abuzz with discussion on how even though India is quite tolerant, a non-Indian will not win the event for a long time. Check Wikipedia on the “Bradley Effect”.

One of the female judges walked off Indian Idol after Meiyang got eliminated. And they kept calling him the singer from China, even though he insisted he is Indian, and is a third generation Indian.
